Three ice cream parlours in the Canary Islands have been recognised among the best in Spain after being included in a national list of expert recommendations for summer.

The selection features more than 100 of Spain's traditional ice cream parlours, chosen by leading gelato makers and industry specialists. Three Canary Islands favourites made the cut, with one in Tenerife and two in Gran Canaria.

Representing Tenerife is Menester Heladería in Puerto de la Cruz. The family-run business has already gained international recognition thanks to its award-winning Origen Cacao ice cream, which celebrates the importance of using high-quality and carefully sourced ingredients. Earlier this year, the creation helped the parlour secure 12th place at the 2026 Gelato Festival World Masters.

In Gran Canaria, Dassie on Triana Street in Las Palmas also features on the list. The Italian gelato brand, which has several shops in Italy but just one in Spain, has become a popular stop for both locals and visitors exploring the city's main shopping district.

The third recommendation is + Di un Gelato, with parlours in Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogán. It was praised for its use of natural ingredients, carefully crafted recipes and commitment to regularly introducing new flavours without compromising quality.

The recognition shows the growing reputation of the Canary Islands' artisan food scene. While the islands are best known for their traditional cuisine, local producers are increasingly earning national recognition for modern, handcrafted products.
