Fuerteventura is set to expand its connectivity this summer with the launch of new flights from Brno in Czechia (Czech Republic) with airline Smartwings, in partnership with tour operator Canaria Travel.
They will operate direct charter flights every Wednesday from Brno to Fuerteventura, which is in addition to the existing flights from Prague, which run on Thursdays and Sundays.
This new route presents a great opportunity for Fuerteventura to tap into new markets. Brno, with a population of 380,000, is a substantial source of potential tourists. Additionally, the flights from Brno open up access to neighbouring countries like Slovakia and Austria, further broadening the potential tourist base for the island.
In addition to Smartwings, German airline Sundair, primarily owned by tour operator Schauinsland Reisen, will start offering flights from Münster-Osnabrück Airport to Fuerteventura in the winter season of 2024/25. These flights will start on October 31st, with twice-weekly services on Sundays and Mondays, on an Airbus A319 with a capacity of 150 seats.
Sundair is also planning to connect Fuerteventura with Dresden and Bremen, enhancing the island's accessibility from multiple German cities.
