The Department of Security and Emergencies of the Fuerteventura Cabildo have reported the discovery of the dead body of a woman in the Natural Park of the Sand Dunes of Corralejo yesterday (Saturday).
According to an official press release, they believe it is the body of Anne Baillie, a 73-year-old English tourist, who was last seen leaving the hotel she was staying in, the Riu Palace Tres Islas in Correlejo, at around 9:30am on Wednesday, June 7th.
Following her disappearance, Cabildo launched an extensive search for her with the collaboration of the Local Police, Civil Protection, and the Beach Service of La Oliva Ayuntamiento, as well as members of the GEAS of the Guardia Civil, Maritime Rescue, and a GES helicopter.
Her body has been taken for autopsy to confirm the cause of her death.
