The National Police has intensified its presence in the different population centres in the province of Tenerife in order to guarantee compliance with the regulations established to prevent the transmission of Covid-19, and will be increasing their presence in the south of the island as more people are breaking the rules in Adeje and Arona than the rest of the island put together.

During the past week, the National Police have issued 382 fines for various breaches of the regulations established to contain Covid-19. Once again, in comparison with the rest of the behaviours proposed for sanction, it is not wearing a mask properly or being out after curfew that accounts for 372 of the breaches, with 167 and 205 sanction proposals respectively.

By municipalities, they have issued 108 sanctions in Santa Cruz, 44 in La Laguna, 204 in Adeje and Arona, 24 between the towns of Puerto de la Cruz and Los Realejos, and 2 in the town of Santa Cruz de la Palma.

The actions have been carried out by National Police officers of the Provincial Police Station of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, who remind all citizens that although restrictions have nee relaxed to Level 2, and may go to Level 1 next week, we are still in a health pandemic and restrictions are in place that must be complied with.
