Fire outbreak reported in Teide National Park

The Tenerife Cabildo, through the Insular Operational Cooperation Centre, has informed via their Twitter account, that a forest fire has broken out in the Teide National Park.

They say that the fire only started a few minutes ago, specifically at kilometre 44 of the TF-21 road that goes through the national park, but already 100m2 of dry ‘brush’ is burning that covers the landscape.

Members of the Island's Forest Fire Brigade have already been sent to the area to work on containing and extinguishing the fire as soon as possible, especially as hotter and drier weather is on the way to the islands with a wind that will help spread the fire.
