Granadilla fire is under control

The Cabildo de Tenerife confirmed late last night that the Forest Brigades have got the fire in Tajao by the Hoya de Juan Alonso beach fully under control, by stopping it from spreading beyond the line of vegetation where it had started, with no damage to any property or human injury.
They will continue to water it to prevent it from re-igniting and are investigating what caused it.

The emergency services are attending to a fire in the south of Tenerife by the Hoya de Juan Alonso beach in Tajao, in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona.
It broke around midday today (Sunday) in the line of vegetation cal Los Tarajales in front of the beach, and the Tenerife Forest Fire Brigades are trying to extinguish it using resources by land and air.
