Dead body of a man found on a street in Las Americas this morning

An unidentified male has been found dead this morning (Saturday) on Calle Víctor Zurita Soler, in the centre of Playa de Las Americas in the south Tenerife, the side road where Aparthotel Piramides is located, as reported by the Coordinating Centre for the Emergencies Services and Security (Cecoes).

The body was discovered at 8.45am by a man walking his dog who called 112 to report his finding, and Cecoes immediately dispatched the relevant resources to the area.

On first inspection, according to their report, it appears that the man, who as yet has not been identified, died in the location where he was found as opposed to the dead body being placed there.

SUC paramedics confirmed the man’s death, and the Guardia Civil are now leading the investigation to find out any events leading to his death including looking at CCTV footage of the area.

They are appealing to anyone who may have any information leading to the identity of the man or the events surrounding his death, to contact them as soon as possible to assist in the investigation.
