Covid update: 121 new cases and four deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands has notified of 121 new cases of coronavirus today taking the total accumulated number of cases to 93,775 since the pandemic began, with 5,317 still active, of which 54 are admitted to ICU, 257 are in hospital wards, and 5,006 are still in home isolation.

In the last 24 hours, the death of four people has been reported in Tenerife, three men aged 93, 65, and 55 years old, and a woman of 61 years old. All had previous pathologies and were already admitted to hospital.

Of the new cases, 47 are in Tenerife, 41 are in Gran Canaria, 18 are in Fuerteventura, 12 in Lanzarote, 2 in La Gomera, 1 in La Palma, and none in El Hierro. The incidence rates for the islands have stayed almost the same as yesterday with the IA7 at 34.88 and the IA14 at 76.20 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Today’s data is the last over the previous 7 days that will be reviewed by the Public Health Committee in the Governing Council meeting, which will decide on any alert level changes in the islands tomorrow.
