The Cabildo will open all access roads to Teide tomorrow, Tuesday

The Tenerife Cabildo will proceed to reopen access roads to Teide from tomorrow, Tuesday 9th, throughout the morning, the TF-24, TF-523, (from Arafo to El Teide) and the TF-21 from La Caldera de La Orotava, as well as the accesses to the National Park from the south through Vilaflor and the TF-38 through Chío.

This was explained by the insular councillor of Roads and the vice president of the Cabildo, Enrique Arriaga, after a meeting with the director of Roads, Tomás Félix García, and the General Directorate of Traffic of the island, as well as those responsible for the municipalities of Arafo, Vilaflor, Guía de Isora, La Orotava and El Rosario, the director of the Teide National Park, Manuel Durbán, and technicians from the Cabildo Civil Protection service.

"We have made this decision based on the weather forecast for this week, so are opening the roads in both directions, and we will have a meeting on Thursday to assess whether access to the National Park is limited in one direction or another at the weekend”, said Arriaga.

The Cabildo is asking citizens to avoid going to the Teide National Park, respecting the regulations imposed by the health restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and will have constant vigilance on these access roads with Proteccion Civil to limit the flow of people.
