10 year old boy seriously injured when he is run over in the south of Tenerife
A 10-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being run over in Golf Del Sur in the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergencies Services Coordination Centre (Cecoes).
The incident occurred on Friday night, at around 10:15pm, when the Cecoes operating room received an urgent call reporting the hit-and-run of a minor on Calle Trasera San Blas, the road that links the urbanization of San Blas to Golf Del Sur.
Two ambulances, a doctor and a nurse from the local Health Centre, and the Guardia Civil were dispatched to the area, and when the first one arrived they reported the severity of the boy's injuries back to the control centre.
The medical team from the health centre were able to attend to the young boy, who was suffering from severe abdominal trauma as a result of the accident, and stabilise him until the medicalized ambulance arrived to take him to the Ntra. Sra. De Candelaria University Hospital for further treatment.
In the meantime, the Guardia Civil controlled the scene of the accident and interviewed all involved, including the driver of the car, to decipher what had happened.
