Body found in ravine in La Palma is missing teacher

The lifeless body of the man who disappeared on the summit in La Palma last Tuesday has been found this morning in the Los Andenes area, in the direction of La Caldera, in an enclave near the wall of Roberto's dam. Apparently, he fell off a cliff of about 200 metres and was spotted with binoculars, thanks to an orange garment he wearing.

The man has been identified as a 49-year-old resident of El Paso who an experienced hiker and lover of photography, and a teacher in Garafía by profession. His disappearance had caused deep consternation as he was a highly valued and well liked person.

Cecopin had organized an extensive search team in the area, which had to stop because of bad weather, but resumed yesterday using a helicopter and three drones belonging to the Volunteer Fire Department of La Palma, as the weather conditions improved.
