Yellow weather warnings continue for haze and wind this Saturday

The Canary Islands are set for another day of yellow weather warnings for haze and wind, as announced by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). The warnings remain active for Saturday in Tenerife and the western islands, promising a day with partly cloudy to clear skies, interspersed with high-altitude clouds and temperatures similar to yesterday.

In terms of sea conditions, the wind is expected to blow from the east or southeast with a force of 4 or 5, possibly reaching force 6 in certain areas of the archipelago, especially along the northern coasts. There will be rough or very rough seas, gradually decreasing later in the day, with a northwest swell measuring 1 to 2 metres in height.

Here is Saturday’s forecast island by island:

LANZAROTE:

Clear skies, with some intervals of high-altitude clouds towards the end of the day. Light haze, especially in the second half of the day. Temperatures will remain relatively unchanged. Moderate winds with occasional strong gusts from the southeast, with some very strong gusts locally in inland and north and west-facing areas. Winds are expected to ease in the afternoon, shifting to the east.
Temperatures: high of 23°C and low of 17°C

FUERTEVENTURA:

Clear skies are forecast with haze, especially in the second half of the day. Temperatures will remain largely stable, except for slight decreases in the minimums. Moderate winds with intermittent strong gusts from the southeast, with some very strong gusts locally in the west. TENERIFE:

Partly cloudy to clear skies with intervals of high-altitude clouds in the afternoon. Significant haze, especially in the south and east of the island, where a weather warning is still in effect. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged. Moderate winds with occasional strong gusts from the southeast. Another warning is in effect for very strong gusts on the northern slope of the island in the middle of the day. Similar conditions may also occur more sporadically in the southwest of the island.
