VIDEO: La Palma’s new beaches created by lava flows seen by drone
A new video taken with drones in la Palma, is showing the new beaches that have been created where the lava met the sea during the eruption on the island between September and December last year.
At the time, when the lava flows met the water, they gave off poisonous gases leading to evacuation and confinement of the population, but a new delta was formed on the west coast of the island that has now had sand washed in by the sea creating a new strip of beaches that residents are curious to see.
El Time newspaper has shared the video on their Twitter feed that shows the natural formation from above, with the caption: “Nature has the power to destroy and also to create”. Take a look here:
