TUI Nordic has confirmed to the Fuerteventura Tourism Board that it will reinstate its non-stop flights between Stockholm and Fuerteventura for the 2026/27 winter season.
The direct service, which is currently only available with stopovers, will operate from 30th October 2026 to 9th April 2027 in response to strong demand from the Scandinavian market.
This development reinforces the success of the Tourism Board’s efforts to strengthen Fuerteventura’s position among travellers from Nordic countries.
Marlene Figueroa, Fuerteventura’s Councillor for Tourism, described the announcement as a major milestone, noting that the return of direct operations by a leading operator such as TUI Nordic represents “a decisive step in recovering market share in Nordic tourism, a segment characterised by strong environmental values, sustainability criteria and higher spending”.
TUI Nordic’s Commercial Director, Tommy Serban, highlighted growing interest in active holidays and nature-based experiences. “We are very pleased to offer a direct route to Fuerteventura next winter. The island is perfect for travellers who want to combine beach life with outdoor activities,” he said.
In 2024, Spain welcomed 1.83 million Swedish tourists, accounting for 2.0% of all international visitors, with estimated spending of 2.7 billion euros, or 2.2% of total tourist expenditure.
