MONDAY WEATHER: A mild and breezy day across the Canary Islands
The Spanish Met Office (AEMET) is forecasting a mix of sunshine and cloud across the Canary Islands for today, Monday, with generally fine conditions and only slight changes in temperature.
Cloudier skies are expected in the north of the islands, particularly during the early morning and evening, while the rest of the archipelago will enjoy mostly clear or sunny weather.
Moderate northeasterly winds are forecast, occasionally becoming strong in the southeast and northwest of Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and El Hierro. At sea, northeast winds of force 4 to 5 will strengthen to 6 offshore, with moderate to rough seas and a north to northwest swell of 1–2 metres.
LANZAROTE:
Generally clear with some cloud in the north and east early and late in the day. Temperatures steady. Moderate northeasterly winds.
Expected temperature range: High of 28°C and a low of 21°C.
FUERTEVENTURA:
Mostly sunny, with some cloud in the north and east at the beginning and end of the day. Temperatures slightly cooler. Moderate northeasterly winds.
Expected temperature range: High of 25°C and a low of 22°C.
GRAN CANARIA:
Cloudy in the north, clearing to intervals during the day; elsewhere mostly sunny. Temperatures steady or slightly lower. Moderate northeasterly winds, occasionally strong in the southeast and northwest.
Expected temperature range: High of 26°C and a low of 22°C.
TENERIFE:
Cloudy in the north, becoming partly sunny; clear skies elsewhere with occasional clouds on the southern slopes. Slight temperature drop, more noticeable in higher areas. Moderate northeasterly winds, with some stronger gusts in the southeast and far west. Light variable winds at high altitudes and sea breezes on the west coast.
