Fuerteventura sweeps Tourism Excellence Awards 2024

Fuerteventura has emerged triumphant in the Mencey Excellence Tourism Awards, securing the top spot with 49% of the votes in the fiercely contested Tourism Excellence Destination category, fighting off strong competitors including Mallorca, Salou, and San Sebastián, all vying for the title based on their resilience, adapted tourist experience, innovation, and sustainability.

Lola García, President of the Fuerteventura Cabildo, emphasised the significance of this well-deserved award, attributing it to the quality of the island's tourism offerings, and Fuerteventura's status as a modern and sustainable destination. García extends her gratitude to the tourism entrepreneurs and professionals who recognised Fuerteventura, as well as all those who voted for its candidacy.

The Mencey Futurist Honour Awards will be presented during the 11th National Forum for Tourism Entrepreneurs and Professionals in Spain, Futurismo 2024, scheduled for April 25th and 26th in Tenerife. The organisers unveiled the award recipients following an open voting process involving professionals, companies, and entities connected to the tourism sector.

The awards have recognised the following tourism companies and destinations: H10 Hotels, P&Y Princesa Yaiza Hotel Resort (Lanzarote), Fuerteventura as a tourist destination, the city of Seville, and, finally, Hotel Bahía del Duque (Tenerife) in the category of most sustainable tourism company.
