Loro Parque Foundation presents a spectacular whale exhibition in Adeje

A breathtaking exhibition of Macaronesian cetaceans has arrived in Adeje in the Plaza de España. Visitors to the south of Tenerife will be able to see life-size replicas of various species of whales that are found in the waters of the Canary Islands.

This initiative, supported by the "la Caixa" Foundation through CaixaBank, is there to see now and aims to raise awareness about the abundant presence of cetaceans around the islands

Efforts are being made to gain support for the creation of a Marine Biodiversity Sanctuary in the archipelago, as well as the extension of the Moratorium on the use of military anti-submarine SONAR in Spain's jurisdictional waters in the Canary Islands.

Yesterday, the president of Loro Parque Foundation, Christoph Kiessling; the director of the Tenerife West area of CaixaBank, Pilar Ramos; and the deputy mayor of Adeje, Adolfo Alonso; along with several other councillors from the Adeje Council, all visited the site to inaugurate the exhibition that will be there for the next 8 weeks.

Likewise, a group of schoolchildren accompanied by the Education Department of the Loro Parque Foundation were taken on a tour, during which, the pupils learnt more about these animals in a fun way. The spectacularity of the replicas, due to their large size, is complemented by the use of augmented reality, creating a unique and immersive educational experience.

The exhibition is open in the mornings for school groups and then in the afternoons to the general public, providing everyone with the opportunity to admire the replicas up close and deepen their knowledge about these impressive marine animals that live so close to us.
