SEPE warns that there will be a delay in some payments in the Canary Islands

The recovery of the computer system of the Public Employment Service (SEPE) is continuing, and they are now back to 80% of full operational capacity in the Canary Islands. There are some regions of Spain where they are only operating at 30% after the hack suffered a week ago. The attack encrypted the databases and they have been recovered one by one, which generates inequality between the different territories.

Despite this recovery in the Canary Islands, SEPE officials are warning that it will be "very difficult" to pay all benefits and subsidies on time, especially new applications. In case of problems the solution may be to double last month's payments but this can only be done in the case of people who are already in the system and not with those who have never received SEPE before.
Regarding the people who were already in ERTE, no delays are foreseen since they go through a differentiated system.
