Jet2 sees massive increase in demand for holidays this summer

Travel group Jet2 says that UK customers' confidence in overseas holidays is high, with more than half (52%) wanting to book and travel on holidays this summer and winter. They have revealed the latest results of customer profiling, which shows that just over 27% say they do not feel safe to travel abroad, which is slightly lower than the results of two weeks ago.

Positive developments such as the UK government's ambition to reopen travel, the successful launch of vaccines in the UK, and tourism ministers in overseas destinations saying they will welcome UK tourists this summer, have all had a positive impact.

The data further shows that confidence increased significantly in early March, and has remained strong in recent weeks. This includes positive announcements recently in destinations including Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Portugal and Turkey, who are all fighting for Brits to travel to their countries.

Following the positive news about the evolution of the pandemic, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have noticed an immediate increase in bookings, and so both have increased capacity to a number of destinations this summer, including the Canary Islands.
