Traffic on the TF-1 motorway experienced major delays this morning (Tuesday) following an incident in Adeje where a young woman fell onto the carriageway from a bridge for reasons that are still unknown.
Emergency services were quickly sent to the area near Exit 81 to assist the woman, who landed on the motorway. Her condition has not yet been confirmed.
The incident caused serious tailbacks in the direction of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Authorities urged drivers to remain patient while emergency teams worked to stabilise the situation and restore traffic flow as soon as possible.
There have been several serious incidents on the TF-1 and nearby roads in recent years, particularly in the Adeje area. For example, in April 2024, a 23-year-old British tourist was killed after climbing over a barrier and being hit by a vehicle whilst attempting to cross the TF-1 near Adeje.
More recently, on 22nd October 2025, a 57-year-old road-maintenance worker lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on the same TF-1 corridor near Fañabé in Adeje.
