A 44-year-old woman is in a serious condition after being run over by her own car on Calle El Cascajal in La Esperanza on Wednesday morning.
The emergency services were dispatched to the location of the incident after receiving an alert at around 8:00am, and found the woman with severe injuries.
They treated her at the scene before she was rushed to hospital by ambulance for urgent treatment.
Police say the woman was hit by her own car, though the circumstances remain unclear. Investigators are looking into whether the incident was caused by a mechanical fault or a mistake while manoeuvring the car.
The woman remains in hospital as inquiries continue.
