Woman arrested in Tenerife for carrying out excursions with no licences or insurance

Members of the Canarian Police Force conducted an operation today in the Río Ravine, located in Arico (Tenerife), after discovering that a woman was working as a mountain guide carrying out excursions without legal authorization or any licences.

The Canarian Government's Department of Security reported in a press release that this woman was conducting a climbing course in the ravine without complying with current regulations when the police intervened.

Police officers confirmed that the woman in question was operating illegally without the required certification to perform the duties of a guide for these activities.

Furthermore, she doesn’t have public liability or rescue insurance, and her activities were being carried out on behalf of an association that was not formally registered.

All this makes it extremely dangerous for the people putting their trust in her when going on her excursions in the ravine, especially in the event that something was to go wrong.
