VIDEO: Firefighters tackle blaze as car catches fire on Tenerife’s TF-1 motorway
Firefighters from Bomberos de Tenerife were called out on Saturday night after a car caught fire on the TF-1 motorway, near Güímar, on the northbound carriageway heading towards Santa Cruz.
The incident was reported to the Canary Islands Emergency Services, which quickly coordinated a response involving the Guardia Civil, SUC medical personnel, and Cabildo road maintenance teams.
Fire crews arrived at the scene to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Dramatic images and videos shared by firefighters showed the car burning on the roadside as they worked to extinguish the blaze.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and medical assistance was not required. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
This was the third vehicle fire recorded on the island within 24 hours, following two similar incidents in Santa Cruz de Tenerife earlier in the day. Authorities are investigating whether any of the cases may be connected.
