The National Police have launched a murder investigation after two partly decomposed bodies were discovered with signs of violence in an apartment on a tourist complex in southern Tenerife.

The victims, believed to be a man and a woman of Argentinian nationality, were found on Friday afternoon inside a room at the Caledonia Park holiday complex in the San Eugenio area of Costa Adeje.

According to police sources, the bodies were already in a state of decomposition and showed clear signs of violent death.

The woman is reported to have been a resident on the island, while the man was visiting. Their identities have not yet been made public.

Scene Sealed Off as Forensic Teams Investigate

The area remains cordoned off as forensic teams continue to examine the scene. No arrests have been made, and the motive behind the deaths remains unclear.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Judicial Police in Tenerife, working alongside the regional homicide unit.

Autopsies Expected to Shed Light on Cause of Death

Post-mortem examinations are due to take place in the coming days, which authorities say will be key to understanding how the pair died.
