Two women suffer severe injuries after a quad bike accident in Tenerife

Two women sustained serious injuries on Friday evening after their quad bike veered off a dirt track and tumbled down a hillside in the Chío area, within the municipality of Guía de Isora, Tenerife.

According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) rescue personnel from the GES helicopter, together with members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium and the Immediate Response Team (ERIE) of the Red Cross, reached the location where the two injured women were.

After providing initial medical care and immobilizing them, the rescue operation was initiated, and the women were safely transferred on stretchers to a secure location where the helicopter was waiting for them.

SUC medical staff assessed the women’s injuries and decided to the one with the most serious injuries, severe abdominal and chest trauma, by helicopter to the helipad at the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.

The second woman was taken by ambulance to Hospiten Sur in Playa Las Americas for further treatment of her injuries.
