Two tourists put their lives at risk for the ‘perfect’ photo in south Tenerife

Images have been circulating on social media, showing two tourists putting their lives at risk in pursuit of the perfect photo in Puerto Santiago in Los Gigantes.

At the time these photographs were taken, the sea displayed particularly turbulent behaviour, with waves crashing violently against the rocks.

The images show a man and a woman standing on a set of jutting rocks by the sea in Puerto Santiago. The area where the tourists were located is known for having witnessed numerous drownings.

Furthermore, the sea conditions were visibly perilous, and the currents could have easily swept them into the water. Fortunately, in this instance, the tourists managed to leave the rocks safely, but their recklessness could have easily resulted in a tragic outcome.
