Two men caught in Adeje after throwing a bag of marijuana out of a car window
The National Police have arrested two men in Adeje after they tried to avoid a police spot check by stopping and reversing to turn round, and then throwing a bag out of the passenger window, which agents discovered contained marijuana.
According to the police report, the two men from Tenerife and Gran Canaria, took ‘evasive action’ when they saw the presence of the police, who were carrying out spot checks, by stopping and reversing away from them.
However, they found they were blocked in by vehicles behind them so tried to turn around to get away throwing the bag out of the window.
Agents were able to intercept the car and retrieve the bag from the road, before identifying the two men and searching their vehicle.
In total, they seized 326 grams of marijuana and 1,515 euros in cash which they found in the car and proceeded to arrest the two occupants. Both the detainees and the police report have been made available to the Judicial Authority for sentencing.
