Two injured in dramatic car accident in the south of Tenerife

Two men, aged 32 and 42 years old, were injured in a traffic accident last night (Saturday) on the TF-66 by the El Palmar roundabout in the municipality of Arona, in the south of Tenerife.

According to reports by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) the incident took place at 2:27am which is when the 1-1-2 call centre received an alert reporting an accident involving a car, and that the occupants needed medical assistance.

CECOES immediately activated the necessary emergency resources, including the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), the Guardia Civil, and the Highway Maintenance Service.

When they got there, one of the men needed to be cut from the vehicle before he could be treated, adding an element of urgency to the response efforts.

SUC medical personnel then assessed the two men, both of whom had suffered moderate injuries, and transported one to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital and the other to the south Hospital

The circumstances leading to the accident remain under investigation by the Guardia Civil, who are working to determine the cause of the incident as no other vehicles were involved.
