Two holidaymakers seriously injured after falling from a balcony in Tenerife

Two tourists were seriously injured yesterday afternoon (Thursday) after falling from an apartment balcony on Calle Tigalate in Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife, according to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

They received an alert about the incident at around 12:115pm and immediately activated the necessary emergency resources to the address given, where SUC medical personnel, along with a doctor and a nurse from the Casco Botánico health centre, treated two men at the scene of the incident.

One of them, of German nationality, who had suffered multiple serious injuries, was evacuated by ambulance in critical condition to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC).

The other man, also German, who had several moderately severe injuries, was also taken to the same hospital in an ambulance for further treatment.

The Local Police and National Police collaborated with emergency teams at the scene of the incident, which is under investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding how and why the two men fell from the balcony.
