Two dead in south Tenerife after head-on collision caused by ‘kamikaze’ driver

Two people were killed in a tragic head-on collision last night (Monday) on the TF-653 road in the south of Tenerife, near camping Nauta. The incident, which occurred shortly after 11:00pm, involved two vehicles, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.

The Canary Islands Emergency Services (SUC) received an urgent call reporting the collision, and response teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The two occupants of one vehicle died on impact, while a third person suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment, and a fourth passenger in the same vehicle sustained moderate injuries and was treated at the scene.

The second vehicle involved in the crash flipped onto its side, with the driver of this vehicle being described as a "kamikaze" driver because initial investigations suggest that he may have crossed into the opposite lane, causing the collision.

The Guardia Civil, local road officials, and the Local Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident. Details of the deceased have not been made public at this stage.
