The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) have reported that they received an emergency call at around 8pm yesterday morning (Thursday), after several pedestrians were run over by a car in San Miguel de Abona in the south of Tenerife.
After receiving the alert, they dispatched the relevant emergency resources to the location given in the Las Chafiras area, where paramedics found two young children and a 52-year-old man had been injured in the incident.
As a result of the collision, a 7-year-old child had sustained a serious leg injury and was transported by medical ambulance to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria for emergency treatment.
Additionally, a 5-year-old child and the man had moderate injuries and were taken to different hospitals for further treatment.
The local police have opened an investigation into the cause of the accident by interviewing the driver of the vehicle involved and eyewitnesses who saw what happened.
