Two people have been arrested by the National Police following a break-in at a restaurant in Arona, south Tenerife, where around €7,000 in cash was stolen.

Officers launched an investigation after the burglary was reported and quickly identified three people allegedly involved in the crime. According to police, the theft was carried out using force, leading to an operation to track down those responsible.

The police operation led to the arrest of two suspects. A third alleged accomplice was not detained after it emerged that he was in hospital, having suffered injuries in a fall from height while committing another robbery, highlighting what officers describe as a pattern of ongoing criminal activity.

Investigators say the two arrested suspects are also linked to a string of other offences. One is accused of carrying out a violent robbery at a commercial premises, in addition to seven minor thefts. The others involved in the case are alleged to have committed four minor thefts at various shops in the Los Cristianos area.

The two detainees have now been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities, as police continue to investigate their suspected involvement in further crimes across the south of Tenerife.
