Three people were injured in a traffic accident on the TF-1 motorway on Thursday afternoon, heading towards Santa Cruz de Tenerife, near kilometre 61 in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona.
The accident happened at around 5:15pm, as reported by the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The collision involved two vehicles and prompted the immediate deployment of the necessary emergency resources, including two basic life support ambulances and medical staff from the San Isidro Health Centre.
They confirmed that all three victims, aged 52, 54, and 84-years-old, suffered moderate injuries in the accident and were taken to Hospiten Sur in Playa Las Americas for further treatment.
Members of the Tenerife Fire Brigade also attended the scene to secure the vehicles involved and assist other emergency personnel, while the Guardia Civil managed the traffic jams on the motorway and submitted the official accident report.
Additionally, the Tenerife Island Road Maintenance Service carried out road surface cleaning to restore safe driving conditions. Authorities have reminded drivers to exercise caution and remain alert, particularly in high-traffic corridors like the TF-1.
