The husband of Laura Gastón, found dead in the sea, still missing in Tenerife

Laura Gastón, the 66-year-old Belgian woman missing since April 24th from Callao Salvaje in Adeje, was found dead last Saturday floating in the sea off the coast of Arico in Tenerife, showing serious signs of violence with one hand missing, both legs missing, and a yellow plastic bag tied over her head, whilst her husband is still missing.

Authorities have kept the investigation, led by the Crimes Against Persons Team of the Judicial Police Organic Unit (UOPJ) of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Southern Tenerife, under secrecy, but have confirmed they are treating it as a murder investigation.

According to the preliminary autopsy report, it has been concluded that the woman's death was of a violent nature, and they are now concerned that he may have met a similar fate but his body has not surfaced yet.

There are reports in Belgium that a car was allegedly found in the sea, close to where Laura’s body was spotted by a fisherman, with a body in it that could be her husband, but these remain unconfirmed by investigators here in Tenerife.

Laura’s husband, Marc Francis, is 71 years old, 1.75 metres tall, with a slim build, grey hair, and green eyes. He is also a Belgian resident of Tenerife living in the Sueño Azul area of Callao Salvaje in Adeje in the south of the island.

The alert to find him remains active, so SOS Desaparecidos asks anyone with information that could facilitate his location to call the numbers 649-952-957 or 644-712-806, or contact them via email at [email protected].
