The Los Cristianos Carnival is underway here is the complete schedule of events

The Los Cristianos Carnival 2024, organised by the Arona City Council, had a dazzling start this weekend with the opening parade through Playa Las Americas, the Fiesta del Pelucón (Wig party) and live music, including a Tina Turner tribute, on the main stage in front of the Valdés Centre in the middle of Los Cristianos.

From now until March 18th attendees will be able to enjoy a variety of colourful galas, vibrant shows, exciting competitions, dances and activities all inspired by its 80s theme, designed to appeal to all audiences, both locals and visitors of all ages.

The official program of the 2024 Los Cristianos International Carnival from today is as follows:

MONDAY, MARCH 11TH

6:30pm: Festival of Choreographic Groups at the Carnival site (in front of the Valdés Centre building), Los Cristianos.

TUESDAY, MARCH 12th

8:00pm: Gala for Election of the Senior Queen with “Carnival Night” at the Carnival Site (in front of the Valdés Centre).

WEDNESDAY MARCH 13TH

8:00pm: Children's Carnival Queen Election Gala at the main Carnival Grounds (in front of the Valdés Centre).

THURSDAY, MARCH 14TH

8:00pm: Carnival Queen Election Gala at the main Carnival Site (in front of the Valdés Centre).

FRIDAY, MARCH 15TH

6:00pm: Senior Citizens' Carnival Dance on the terrace in front of the Los Cristianos Cultural Centre.

8:30pm: Carnival Drag Queen Show on the main stage in front of the Valdés Centre building.

11:00pm: DJ Zone is opened in Plaza del Pescador (exterior of the Los Cristianos Cultural Centre), with local DJs till late.

Midnight: Live music and dancing with Edwin Rivera and the Sabrosa and Tropin orchestras on the main stage in front of the Valdés Centre building.

SATURDAY, MARCH 16TH

On Saturday, March 16th, Carnival Day will be held, offering two different stages: one for families with shows and workshops for children, and another for adults with the presence of nationally and internationally renowned artists.

During the day, the Costume Contest will be held, and after the presentation of the Óscar Hernández awards for the most original, the most frightening and the most extravagant costume, the X Beach Route will begin.

3:00pm: Family Stage with various performances and Carnival workshops in the Plaza de La Pescadora, Los Cristianos.

4:00pm: Main Stage with national and international artists in front of the Valdés Centre building.

7:00pm: Carnival Costume Contest in the Plaza de La Pescadora.

9:00pm: X Beach Route with an awards ceremony at the end for the most original, most horrifying and most insane costume. Starts at Plaza de la Pescadora, then goes through Plaza de la Alpispa, Calle Juan Reverón Sierra, Avenida Los Playeros and back to Plaza del Pescador which is in front of the Cultural Centre.

9:00pm: Local DJs in Plaza del Pescador.

10:30pm: Grand Dance enlivened by the Ochentera Salsa Band, Corinto Band, and Wamampy orchestras on the main stage in front of the Valdés Centre.

SUNDAY, MARCH 17TH

11:00am: Classic Cars Exhibition in front of the Valdés Centre.

4:00pm: Main Carnival Parade. Starts from Paloma Beach Apartments on Avenida Juan Carlos I and ends at the Los Cristianos Cultural Centre.

8:00pm: Grand Dance enlivened by the Armonía Show and Los Ideales orchestras on the main stage in front of the Valdés Centre.

MONDAY, MARCH 18TH

9:00pm: Burial of the Carnival Sardine, from the Plaza del Pescador (Cultural Center) to Los Cristianos Beach marking the official end of the 2024 Carnival.

11:00pm: DJ Zone with local DJs in the Plaza del Pescador.
