Servitaxi Tenesur SL

Cloudy skies, light rain and the arrival of calima are expected across parts of the Canary Islands today, Thursday, according to the latest forecast from AEMET. It indicates generally cloudy conditions across the archipelago, with some weak rainfall still possible, particularly in the northern areas of the mountainous islands.

At the same time, light calima, dust carried from the Sahara, is expected to appear later in the day, mainly at higher altitudes, and temperatures are forecast to rise slightly.

Strong winds and rough seas expected

Moderate to strong trade winds are also forecast, with the possibility of occasional very strong gusts in some areas, particularly during the early hours. Winds are expected to gradually ease later in the day, turning to a light to moderate easterly direction in higher areas, with local sea breezes developing along some coasts.

At sea, north-easterly winds of force 5 to 6 are expected, occasionally reaching force 7. Conditions will range from rough seas to very rough at times, with a north or north-west swell between 1 and 3 metres.
