Surfers rescue injured woman at beach in the south of Tenerife

A 37-year-old woman has been injured after colliding with rocks while swimming at Playa Arena Blanca in Arona, in the south of Tenerife. She was rescued from the water by a group of surfers who were nearby at the time of the incident.

The incident took place at around 10:15am this morning, Friday, according to reports from the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES).

Once the woman was safely brought to shore, paramedics assessed her condition and confirmed she had suffered a dislocation injury and cuts and bruises from the rocks.

After treating her on the beach, she was taken by ambulance to the Hospiten Sur Hospital in Playa Las Americas for routine observation.

Local and National Police officers were also dispatched to the scene, assisting medical teams and opening an investigation into the incident. The surfers have been praised for their quick actions in rescuing the woman and getting her safely on dry land.
