Spring Hotels backs Canary Wrestling in new sponsorship deal
Spring Hotels, under its sports brand Spring in Motion, has further increased its commitment to local sport by becoming the main sponsor of C.L. Chijafe, a leading club in the traditional discipline of Lucha Canaria (Canarian Wrestling).
The partnership, sealed for the new season, highlights the hotel chain’s dedication not only to promoting an active lifestyle but also to preserving and showcasing the Canary Islands’ unique sporting heritage.

Recognised as a Cultural Asset of Interest, Lucha Canaria is more than a sport – it is an expression of Canarian identity and tradition. With this sponsorship, Spring Hotels aims to support Chijafe’s athletes while helping to bring greater visibility to this ancestral discipline, both locally and to international visitors staying in its resorts.

The collaboration also strengthens the work of Chijafe’s school, which already trains more than 40 children. Beyond teaching techniques, the school instils values such as respect, discipline, and pride in Canarian heritage. The aim is to ensure Lucha Canaria is embraced with the same enthusiasm as football or basketball among the younger generation.
