Son arrested after mother found dead in the south of Tenerife
A man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his mother after her body was discovered on Saturday night (31st January) in the south of Tenerife, according to sources close to the investigation and confirmed by the Guardia Civil.
The incident occurred in Costa del Silencio, in the municipality of Arona, where officers arrived to find the woman dead with clear signs of a violent death.
According to early reports, investigators found a handwritten note allegedly left by the suspect, who is believed to have fled the apartment in the family’s car.
Unofficial sources suggest the fatal attack may have involved a firearm, with as many as four shell casings recovered at the scene.
Guardia Civil officers located the suspect in under 24 hours and arrested him. He is in custody and expected to appear before a judge on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as a German woman who had lived in the south of the island for several years. Neighbours raised the alarm after hearing a loud argument inside the property.
