Seven injured after car crashes into bar terrace in Tenerife
Seven people were injured this morning (Tuesday), after a car with no driver crashed into the terrace of a bar in Santa Cruz (Tenerife), according to reports from the Local Police and the emergency services coordination centre (CECOES).
The incident occurred at around 9:00am on Calle Mencey Bencomo, when a parked car rolled down the hill and crashed into the terrace area of a bar.
Early indications suggest the driver may have forgotten to apply the handbrake after parking on a sloped side street.
The Local Police traffic unit is investigating the circumstances to determine the exact cause of the crash.
Emergency crews from the National Police, fire brigade, and the SUC (medical personnel) attended the scene. The SUC deployed three ambulances for paramedics to assess and treat the injured, none of whom, fortunately, had suffered serious harm.
Authorities have not reported any structural damage to nearby buildings, and the area was secured shortly after the collision.
