A serious traffic accident on the TF-1 motorway in the south of Tenerife left two women injured this morning (Wednesday), one of them in a critical condition. The collision, which involved three vehicles, occurred at around 7:30am in the southbound lane of the motorway, just before the Armeñime exit in Adeje.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched, and paramedics treated both women after firefighters had freed one of them, who was trapped in her car following the impact.
A 45-year-old sustained a moderate head injury and was taken by ambulance to Hospiten Sur. The second woman, who suffered multiple serious injuries, had to be stabilised before being transported in critical condition to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria in Santa Cruz.
This latest accident adds to a series of serious incidents reported on the TF-1 in recent weeks. Earlier this month, three people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision near Guaza in Arona, with one driver trapped in the wreckage before being rescued by firefighters.
In July, a tragic incident near El Porís de Abona claimed the life of a man who was struck by a lorry and other vehicles after his car broke down on the motorway.
