Sea Cloud Spirit, the third largest sailing yacht in the world, has docked in Tenerife

The third largest sailing yacht in the world, the Sea Cloud Spirit has docked in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, making it an imposing sight due to its size and three masts which are visible for miles around. This majestic luxury sailboat is 125 metres long, has 28 sails, and five decks with some amazing facilities onboard.

It was built at the prestigious Metalships & Docks shipyard in Vigo, at a cost of 90 million euros. It marked a milestone following the difficulties the shipyard went through in 2010, when it was first commissioned, and subsequently was only completed in April 2021, eleven years after initially planned.

The Sea Cloud Spirit has five exquisitely designed decks, offering first-class accommodation with 69 luxurious suites, including 25 with private balconies, to accommodate 136 passengers. In addition to the usual amenities such as a fine dining restaurant, boutique and library, the ship has an infirmary, wine bar, cocktail bar and tea room. There are spacious and elegant common spaces on the main deck, along with an ocean-view spa, hair salon and gym.

It has a crew of 90 people, 40 of whom are on deck to manoeuvre this magnificent vessel during sailing, the rest are in hospitality dedicated to meet the needs of passengers and ensure the smooth operation of the cruise.

From the elegance of the captain's deck to the meticulous attention to every detail, this sailboat is a masterpiece of naval engineering and an amazing sight when seen sailing past the islands at full sail.
