Temperatures are set to rise sharply across the Canary Islands today, Saturday, with highs of up to 34°C forecast in some areas, according to the latest forecasts from AEMET. Residents and visitors are advised to stay hydrated, limit prolonged sun exposure, and take care when travelling, especially in affected areas.
The warm spell will be accompanied by calima, a haze caused by Saharan dust, along with cloud cover and periods of strong winds in exposed areas.
Winds will generally be light to moderate from the east to south, although stronger gusts are possible in higher ground and on some northern and western slopes.
At sea, conditions will be moderate to rough, with north-easterly to easterly winds (force 4 to 6) and north-westerly swells of 1 to 2 metres.
Island-by-island outlook for Saturday 18th April 2026:
Tenerife
Partly cloudy skies with a small chance of isolated showers or storms inland later in the day. Dust haze will be more significant in southern mid-level and mountainous areas. Temperatures will increase, especially in the north and south-west, where rises could be particularly marked. Highs above 30°C are expected in many mid-level areas, with possible peaks of 34°C in the west.
General temperature range: Low of 18°C and high of 30°C.

General temperature range: Low of 19°C and high of 29°C.
