A serious accident on the southern side of the TF-21 road, which crosses Teide National Park, left two women injured on Saturday evening after a quad bike collided with a car. The incident occurred around 8:20 pm when the Canary Islands Emergency Services (112) received an alert reporting the collision.

Emergency medics treated the two women at the roadside before transferring them to hospital. One of the victims sustained serious multiple injuries and was rushed to Candalaria hospital.

The second woman suffered a moderate shoulder injury and was transported to Hospiten Sur by ambulance.

The TF-21 is a popular scenic route through the Teide National Park, often used by holidaymakers in cars, buses, and recreational vehicles such as quad bikes. There have been several serious quad bike accidents across the Canary Islands in recent months.

In March, a 22-year-old woman was left in a critical condition after colliding on the TF-21 in Vilaflor, and later had to be airlifted to hospital. Just weeks later, a 35-year-old woman was hospitalised after her quad struck a wall in Granadilla de Abona.

In Fuerteventura, an 18-year-old woman was also left fighting for her life after a quad bike crash in Los Alares, while another passenger suffered minor injuries.

Last year, two young Italian tourists were rescued by firefighters in Vilaflor after plunging around 15 metres from a quad, both sustaining moderate injuries.
