A man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car near Tenerife North Airport on Tuesday evening, just before 8:00pm.
The incident happened on the TF-5 motorway near San Cristóbal de La Laguna.
Emergency services were called after reports came through that a pedestrian had been hit while crossing the road.
Paramedics got to the scene quickly and gave the man emergency treatment. He had suffered multiple serious injuries and was taken straight to hospital, where he remains in intensive care.
The Guardia Civil stepped in to manage traffic while medics worked, and they’ve now launched an investigation to find out exactly how the incident happened.
There’s no word yet on who the driver was or whether any charges are likely to be issued.
