Paraglider injured after falling from the sky in the south of Tenerife

A 36-year-old paraglider was injured yesterday (Tuesday) after a fall in the La Enramada area of Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The incident occurred around 1:15 pm, which is when the 112 emergency call centre received an alert informing that a paraglider was injured and needed urgent attention.

Firefighters were dispatched to the location given, which was difficult for an ambulance to access, and carried the injured man on a stretcher to a clearing where medical personnel were waiting to treat him.

After being assessed, they decided to transfer him by ambulance to the Hospiten Sur Hospital in Playa Las Americas for treatment for a back injury sustained in the fall.

Police have opened an inquiry into what happened, how far he fell from, and why.
