A 41-year-old paraglider has died after suffering an accident on Tuesday in Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, according to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident occurred in the Las Moraditas area, where emergency teams were deployed following an alert reporting that a paraglider had crashed and required urgent medical assistance.
A rescue helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency and Rescue Group reached the victim and airlifted him after confirming he was in cardiac arrest.
Rescuers performed CPR during the flight to the Adeje Fire Brigade helipad, where SUC medical personnel were waiting for him to land, before continuing with advanced resuscitation techniques. Unfortunately, despite their attempts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Guardia Civil has taken charge of the investigation into the cause of the accident.
