A serious road accident on the TF-47 near the Abama Hotel in the southwest of Tenerife, has left one person dead and two others seriously injured, including an 11-year-old girl, according to reports from the emergency services.
The collision, which occurred at around 11:30am this morning (Tuesday), involved a car and a bus. All three victims were travelling in the car: the driver, whose age has not been released, died at the scene, while the child and an adult woman sustained serious injuries.
A passenger on the bus also suffered minor injuries, but did not require hospitalisation.
Emergency crews, including the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), firefighters, and Guardia Civil, responded quickly to the scene. Paramedics stabilised the injured before transferring them to hospital for further treatment.
The Guardia Civil took responsibility of the man’s body until the judicial authorities gave permission for it to be removed and taken for official identification and an autopsy.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash, and an investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
