A striking photograph titled “Moon in Tenerife” has caught the attention of National Geographic, earning a place in the prestigious publication’s March 2026 magazine.

The image was captured by well-known Tenerife photographer Eduardo García, a regular contributor to local media. His atmospheric shot, taken in October 2025, showcases the Moon rising gently over the slopes of Teide National Park.

A Spectacular Scene from the Slopes of Teide

After weeks of carefully studying locations, lighting conditions and framing, García finally captured the exact moment he had been waiting for. The scene unfolded after nearly an hour of patient anticipation.

“After what felt like an endless wait, with all the equipment perfectly positioned, Mother Nature gifted us an unforgettable scene,” García explained. “The Moon appeared subtly and silently. As if not wanting to draw attention, it slowly slipped across one of Teide’s slopes, revealing its most captivating face.”

The photographer admits it was a moment he will never forget.

Taken within the iconic volcanic landscape of Teide National Park, the image highlights the unique natural beauty of Tenerife and further cements García’s reputation in the field of night landscape photography.

For residents and visitors alike, it’s yet another reminder of the extraordinary sights the Canary Islands have to offer — sometimes, all it takes is patience and looking up.
