Maritime Rescue finds the dead body of missing 21-year-old in Adeje
The Emergency Services have confirmed that Maritime Rescue have located the body of a person who went missing off the coast of Costa Adeje in the south of Tenerife yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert yesterday reporting that a 21-year-old Italian man had jumped into the water from a boat and his whereabouts were unknown as he had simply disappeared.
An intense search started yesterday afternoon by maritime rescue in boats and by helicopter, which resumed at daylight this morning, and GEAS troops confirmed shortly after that they had found his body close to Puertito de Armeñime beach in Costa Adeje.
His body was transferred to Los Cristianos harbour where the Guardia Civil took control of the situation until a coroner came and gave the authority for it to be taken for official identification and an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
